API fuel loading couplings divide into liquid-phase types - dry-disconnect and gravity couplings - and gas-phase vapour couplings for vapour recovery. They are the standard interface for bottom loading and unloading of fuel tankers, fitted to loading arms at fuel terminals and to the road tankers themselves.
