Hammer Lug couplings are heavy threaded couplings for onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, tightened via a nut with three lugs struck by hammer. Sizes run from 1 to 12 inch in carbon steel or high-strength 4130 chrome-molybdenum steel, in numerous types whose working pressures depend on the design and size. They transfer air, water, oil, gas, drilling fluid and other media.
